Trainings on renewable energy sources were held

Trainings on renewable energy sources were organized by the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy, Baku Higher Oil School and the Center for Environmental Research.

Representatives of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy, teachers of the Baku Higher Oil School and Baku Engineering University took part in the five-day training.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy, Tabriz Ammayev spoke about the potential of Azerbaijan's renewable energy sources, the work done and planned, and said that by 2030 the country's total energy balance will increase to 30% of renewable energy. Noting that the liberated territories will be a green energy zone, the head of the Agency said that green energy has been declared one of the country's national priorities. Tabriz Ammayev stressed the importance of strengthening local staff in the framework of large-scale measures in the field of renewable energy sources.

Rector of the Baku Higher Oil School Elmar Gasimov also noted the cooperation with the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy: "The use of renewable energy sources is important to prevent the global environmental crisis. Renewable energy sources are also an alternative to the use of depleted resources. Oil companies are already investing in this area and taking steps to develop it. Azerbaijan also has big plans to use renewable energy sources. Large-scale projects have been launched in this area. We attach importance to the training of specialists to work on these projects. Internships for teachers and students at the newly established wind and solar power plants, and the employment of future professional graduates in these projects are among the plans.”

Rovshan Abbasov, Director of the Center for Environmental Research, Coordinator of the Training Program, described the training, which is aimed at gaining knowledge in the field of renewable energy, as a big step forward. He stressed that Azerbaijan has great potential in the field of renewable energy and the importance of training specialists in this field. 

At the end, the participants were awarded certificates.
