Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, who is on a visit to Brazil, met with the Italian Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin and CEO of the Hydrogen Council Ivana Jemelkova.
At the meeting with the Italian Minister the matters such as cooperation between SOCAR and Eni S.P.A regarding the expansion of energy relations, increasing the transmission capacity of TAP, participation of CESI in feasibility study of Caspian-Black Sea-Europe corridor, supply opportunities of renewable energy were discussed. It was noted that the export of 9.6 bcm of gas to Italy is expected this year. Discussions covered the current status of the processes on the Green Energy Corridor project and the inclusion of Bulgaria in the feasibility study of the project. The prospects for Serbia and Italy to join the project were also assessed. During the conversation, cooperation within the COP29 was also touched upon and the Italian minister was invited to the Energy Day.
At the meeting with the CEO of the Hydrogen Council Ivana Jemelkova, information was provided that the Hydrogen Declaration is one of the energy initiatives of the COP29 presidency, that a hydrogen strategy is currently being developed in our country, and projects envisaging the production and export of hydrogen on the basis of offshore wind energy. During the COP, participation in hydrogen events and cooperation opportunities were discussed. In order to achieve a successful result in the COP, the support of the Hydrogen Council in the direction of attracting interested circles was offered.
