The Ministry of Energy organized a round table on Transition to Clean Energy in Azerbaijan in a video format with the participation of the representatives from the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy and international organizations within the EU4Energy.
The event was organized in order to discuss the key processes, progress and challenges related to the European Green Deal and its deep decarbonization policy, as well as Azerbaijan's transition to clean energy, and exchange the knowledge and experience in this area.
Following the opening speeches of Orkhan Zeynalov, head of the Department of international cooperation of the Ministry of Energy and Charles Esser, Secretary General of the Council of European Energy Regulators, views were exchanged on monitoring the processes related to the implementation of the Clean Energy Package for the Europe, its requirements and the possibility of implementing these requirements, emerging main obstacles and sought solutions. Information was provided about the measures to be taken in Azerbaijan in the direction of decarbonization, and the steps taken to achieve the objectives of the Paris Climate Agreement were discussed. At the same time, foreign experts presented Austria's National Energy and Climate Plan to describe the knowledge and achievements gained in the process of achieving the goals of the European Green Deal.
