AREA department head participated in the training program of the Japan International Cooperation Agency

Head of the Hydrogen and Green Technologies Department of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA) under the Ministry of Energy, Rena Humbatova participated in the Joint Knowledge Sharing "Promotion of Hydrogen Energy Use" training program from January 21 to February 1 at the "JICA training center" in Yokohama, which was organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

In order to fulfill the obligations of the Japanese government to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the training included research and implemented pilot projects for the development of technologies for the use of hydrogen in the production of electricity and heat energy, as well as in vehicles carrying out cargo transportation in international and local seaports. detailed information was provided.

In her speeches during the program period, Rena Humbatova gave detailed information about the existing strategic documents on the implementation of Azerbaijan's obligations related to green energy and climate change, as well as the production possibilities of various types of hydrogen within the framework of the exchange of experience on the use of energy transition technologies.

It was noted that "Low Carbon Hydrogen Economy in Azerbaijan" was conducted with the technical support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) regarding the connection with the expansion of hydrogen technology across the country.

Rena Humbatova spoke on behalf of the event participants at the closing ceremony of the program and thanked JICA and the Japanese government. Within the framework of the program, field visits to the Fukushima Hydrogen Research Center of the New Energy and Industrial Technologies Development Organization (NEDO) and the research center of the CHIYODA corporation were organized in order to get acquainted with the research and pilot projects carried out in Japan.

In addition to Azerbaijan, representatives of the state institutions of Uzbekistan, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, Uruguay, Colombia, Namibia, and Laos participated in the program.
