Director of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA) under the Ministry of Energy, Javid Abdullayev, participated in the online session on "Opportunities in Azerbaijan renewable energy sector", which was jointly initiated by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Communal Services of Malaysia and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Malaysia.

Muhammad Razif bin Abd Mubin, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Public Utilities of Malaysia, and Javid Abdullayev, Director of AREA, made an opening speech at the meeting.

Noting that the renewable energy sector is one of the main priorities in our country, Javid Abdullayev spoke about the potential of green energy, and current and future projects. Information on export opportunities and routes of green energy of Azerbaijan was given such as implementation of renewable energy projects with a capacity of 7 gigawatts in Azerbaijan by 2030, and exporting 5 gigawatts of this capacity.Regarding the favorable investment environment created in our country, Javid Abdullayev talked about cooperation with foreign companies, and in this regard, Malaysian companies were invited to participate in future projects.

Later, speeches were heard by Irfan Davudov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Malaysia, AREA department heads - Rena Humbatova and Fagan Abdurahmanov, Murad Sadikhov, Country Manager for Azerbaijan of the UAE "Masdar" company. Extensive information was given on the projects implemented in our country, investment opportunities, and other directions. The meeting was also attended by senior officials of more than 40 companies operating in the field of energy and renewable energy in Malaysia.

The online meeting continued with a question-and-answer session and discussions.
