Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev met with Under-Secretary of State of the minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland for external economic relations Nina Vaskunlahti and the delegation accompanying her. An exchange of views was made on the opportunities for the development of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Finland. 

The sides talked about the important role of the Southern Gas Corridor in ensuring energy security in the region and diversifying energy resources, and emphasized the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on strategic partnership in the energy sector signed between the European Union and Azerbaijan in this direction.

The information was given about the energy projects implemented in Azerbaijan, the development of renewable energy sources, the measures taken to establish a green energy zone in the liberated territories. The possibility of studying the Finnish practice in this area, as well as the great potential for the participation of Finnish companies in the projects was underlined.

The sides exchanged views on a number of other areas of mutual interest in energy cooperation.
