Kamran Huseynov, Deputy director of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA), participated in the 3rd Caspian Europe Forum held in the hybrid format in Berlin, Germany.

Kamran Huseynov joined the event in online format, he informed on "Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Development in Azerbaijan" at the session related to "New regional security in Europe".

He noted that according to the document "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for socio-economic development" approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated February 2, 2021, the use of "green energy" sources, taking into account the scale of global climate changes in the current decade is encouraged.

The deputy director also talked about the renewable energy potential of Azerbaijan, the agreements signed with the international companies, the pilot projects to be implemented and the work done in the direction of establishment of a "Green Energy Zone" in the liberated territories. Information was provided on the potential of wind energy of Azerbaijani in the Caspian Sea, the Offshore Wind Road Map developed with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for the development of offshore wind energy. 

The representatives of states from the Caspian and Central Asian regions, as well as senior executives of Germany, international organizations and companies participated in the event.
