- On March 15, 2022, the Ministry of Energy and Masdar, the United Arab Emirates signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of renewable and clean energy in the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions .
- The Memorandum defines possible cooperation on the use of renewable energy sources in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
- According to the document, Masdar intends to study investment opportunities in coordination with the Ministry in areas such as utility scale wind and solar PV plants, rooftop solar systems and others.
