The Energy Ministry held a meeting on educating the younger generation about renewable energy sources at secondary school No. 3 named after Rustam Aliyev in Baku within the Green World Solidarity Year with the participation of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy.

Director of the school Almaz Hasret stressed the importance of the meeting in the direction of increasing students' knowledge about the economic, environmental and social benefits of using renewable energy sources.

Head of the Section of the Ministry of Energy Jahid Mikayilov spoke about the work done in the Republic of Azerbaijan to develop the use of renewable energy sources in accordance with the policy set by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and informed about the implemented projects, priorities and future goals. It was noted that the declaration of 2024 by the Head of the State as a Green World Solidarity Year and the hosting of COP29 by Azerbaijan create new opportunities both for expanding the renewable energy use and for raising awareness in the relevant direction.

Then the Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy Shaban Nasirov gave information about the activities of the Council and drew attention to the fact that the students' consideration of such directions as green energy and energy efficiency during the selection of specialties in the future can contribute to the sustainable development of the field.

Within the meeting, the speeches of the members of the Public Council were heard on the electricity production through renewable energy sources, saving of resources such as water and energy, protection of the environment, prevention of climate changes, and the publicity and educational work of the Public Council on the development of green energy was brought to the attention. At the end, the students' questions were answered.
