Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with Sebastian Ioan Burduja, Energy Minister of Romania.
At the meeting, which took place within the Intergovernmental Commission, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan and Romania are friendly countries developing relations on the basis of strategic partnership. The role of strategically important energy projects in raising cooperation relations to a new stage of development was discussed. In this regard, discussions were held on the current status and prospects of cooperation on Caspian-Black Sea-Europe green energy corridor, Black Sea LNG project, Solidarity Ring, gas supply between SOCAR and Romgaz SA, as well as on Gas transportation with Transgaz. The issues of expanding cooperation in the field of oil and oil products trade were touched upon.
Romania's support for the Green Energy Corridor project within the implementation of the Agreement on Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary and Romania in the green energy development and transmission was highly appreciated. For the establishment of a joint venture on this corridor, the measures taken to identify a consulting law company and apply for the status of a General or Common Interests Project (PCIs) were reviewed. The importance of strengthening efforts to accelerate the implementation process of the project was noted.
During the conversation, it was agreed to take necessary measures to establish intensive relations and strengthen cooperation between the relevant bodies of the two countries in the field of energy regulation.
