The next meeting of the Commission established by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 1673 dated 5 December 2019 on additional measures for the implementation of projects in the field of use of renewable energy sources was held in the updated version.

The chairman of the commission, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov emphasized the strategic role of renewable energy sources in further strengthening the country's energy security, as well as increasing its export potential, and noted the tasks facing the Commission in this direction.

At the meeting, the progress of green energy projects implemented and planned in Azerbaijan was reviewed. The report of the Secretariat on the work done during the period after the last meeting of the commission was made. The documents intended to be signed with ACWA Power and Masdar were discussed and information about renewable energy projects planned to be implemented in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was given.

Areas planned to be allocated for the use of offshore wind energy, projects implemented in Azerbaijan related to green hydrogen production, as well as allocation of land for the implementation of network connection measures related to the Shafag Solar Power Plant implemented by the bp, and other issues reports have been made.

The representatives of the Ministries of Energy, Emergency Situations, Ecology and Natural Resources, Defense, Economy, Finance, Justice, Agriculture, Digital Development and Transport, SOCAR, Azerenergy OJSC, Azerishiq OJSC, Central Bank, State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) attended at the meeting.
