Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with Mr. Qiao Xubin, President of China Energy International Group Co., Ltd.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and China on energy cooperation. In this regard, the importance of implementing renewable energy projects in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Energy and China Gezhouba Group in June this year was noted. Emphasizing that the development of green energy is among the main priorities of the socio-economic development strategy of Azerbaijan, it was mentioned the creation of wind and solar energy production capacities for domestic consumption and export purposes, as well as the Caspian-European Union Green Energy Corridor. It was noted that these projects encourage broad cooperation in the field of renewables and our country is interested in establishing a green energy partnership with Chinese companies.

During the discussions, China Energy International Group Co. Ltd on energy storage systems, green hydrogen production and export, advanced transmission and distribution network technologies and other priority areas were evaluated. It was recommended to speed up activities related to the identified projects.
