Representatives of foreign companies operating in the field of green energy visited Lachin

In accordance with the relevant instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, measures are underway to create a "green energy" zone in the liberated territories. As is known, the liberated territories have serious renewable energy potential, and foreign investors are showing great interest in this area.

Representatives of Masdar, ACWA Power and Gezhouba Group operating in the relevant field of Azerbaijan under the leadership of Javid Abdullayev, Head of AREA under the Ministry of Energy visited the liberated territories.

Within the visit, a meeting with the special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Masim Mammadov was held in Lachin. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the projects implemented in Lachin in accordance with the Action Plan for the establishment of the “green energy” zone in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022-2026, as well as the areas intended for the construction of a wind power plant in the Minkend region. Information was provided about bioenergy, energy efficiency, measures taken in connection with the use of solar energy in buildings, issues related to the construction of solar and wind power plants were discussed. It was emphasized that the creation of national content in the field of renewable energy is of particular interest. It was noted that in order to implement the I State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, taking into account the high wind power potential in Lachin and Kalbajar regions, it is planned to build wind power plants in these areas.

Representatives of Masdar, ACWA Power and Gezhouba Group expressed interest in investing in green energy projects in the liberated territories. It was decided to hold the next meetings and discussions between the parties.

During the visit, the delegation also visited Agali village, built on the basis of the concept of Smart Village in Zangilan.
